Wherever we have been, wherever we shall go tomorrow, however we are separately gifted, challenged, and called, may we gather this night to share the joy of transforming love. Gather together and offer our warming songs and stories of gift, challenge, and call to one another; may we attend and be a gift in being present, setting down for a few hours those restless resentments, chains of despair, and bonds of aching fear. We need not wrestle tonight with tomorrow, but abide in this time, little by little finding thanksgiving, little by little sharing what we bear of peace, of hope, and of love. May we rejoice in this sharing, in this gathering, in this chance to attend to the right now and be both warmed and surprised by joy. Amen.
