For mercy’s sake may we who are stony hearted open humbly to the way of steadfast love. For mercy’s sake may we who are afraid of not being or having enough stretch humbly to the way of giving in steadfast love. For mercy’s sake may we who are struggling with disappointment, loneliness, and confusion find ourselves surprised by wonder, follow it and meet renewal. For mercy’s sake may we who are guilty and ashamed seek ways of making amends, of reconciliation, of seeking forgiveness, of restoring what we have broken or of rebuilding and reconsecrating the desecrated places. For mercy’s sake may we who are embittered and resentful open to those seeking restoration and making amends and may we join them, forgive, and find the joy of reconciliation. For mercy’s sake may we who are thankful give thanks and then find new ways to help others give thanks. For mercy’s sake, may we tend to one another, to the heart of compassion, to Transforming Love, and bear mercy wherever we go. Amen.
