Though this day is done, this year is barely underway. Already we may have struggled. Already we may have faltered. Already we may have failed. But let us take heart in the daily round, the sun rising and the sun setting, the earth waking and the earth sleeping. Let us gather round us one by one our reasons to be grateful and give voice to our thanks. From that thanksgiving may we scrape together our courage once again to love boldly, to give courageously, and to rejoice in thanks now and always. Amen.
