Oh, Beloved, in our days and moments of envy, let us reach out toward celebrating the gifts and blessings of our neighbors, friends, strangers, colleagues, and family. Turn us away from mistrust and malice, from pettiness and from snapping at others. Bring us back to our whole selves. As we return, may we remember again that envy is but one reason why love and generosity take both great courage and great strength. Let us give thanks for one another and for the gifts each of us has. When we are swamped by feeling not enough, caught up in comparing and not appreciating the gifts of one another, send us an encouraging one, and help us know and appreciate that word of thanks, appreciation, or recognition. Help us remember that we are already loved and loveable, and that these obstacles here are but ways we once again are shown the work before us: to love beyond measure and risk faithfully all our days. Amen.
