Wisdom teach us to touch one another as a blessing, not to cause pain or to seek oblivion, but to share mystery, mercy, and love. In our touching, by heart or word or deed, may we live with wonder and with reverence. This person before us matters, is holy and wholly belongs to Love. This person beside us, who is so different from ourselves, and with whom we nearly despair of finding a life affirming connection, is holy and wholly belongs to Love. This person behind us, who we so easily passed by, is worthy of life's blessings too, for this person is holy and wholly belongs to Love. This person cast away in a prison of hate still yearns and may yet find compassion or awe woken within; this person, too, is holy and wholly belongs, as we all do, to Love. Love unite us in and through our differences, past our bigotry and our justified fears, that we may all learn to be a blessing to one another and to this earth, day after day. Amen.
