Wake again to wonder! Though the night was long and restless, though the winds of sorrow swept through the trees, yet the comforters were abroad, sitting in ashes with those who mourn, staying awake with those who despair, bringing hope through the long winter night. The day is ahead, and mercies yet will be required. May we receive the mercy we need and offer mercy to those we meet in need, grateful that we are ever called and calling. It is a wonder and a blessing, these mercies given, these mercies received. With thanks, with wonder, with love, may we live humbly and all our days for mercy's sake. Amen.
