Morning Prayer February 11, 2013

Lover of Life, you are a lover of change, of evolution and of reform, of helping and healing, of growing peace and caring for the earth. We reach this day upon the waters of life, which are the waters of change, and from this day we go forward to do what we can. Lover of change, let us not accept injustice, societies where we discard lives and where we accept great inequality. Lover of change, encourage us as we encourage and engage with another to make more a more merciful justice, to create a world where those who want meaningful work that sustains, can, and where we learn the wealth of wisdom in the world and how to be gritty, steadfast in our caring and our labors of love. Lover of change, let us not accept large numbers of people incarcerated for large parts of their lives because of poverty, the disease of addiction, and nonviolent bad choices. Encourage us as we encourage and engage with one another to create sustaining and sustainable communities where hope has reason to thrive, where those who have made mistakes make amends and learn new skills and return fully and fruitfully into our communities. Lover of Life, you are a lover of change, so help us be more merciful and more courageous in making a better, more humane, and more just world. Amen.
