Love, you teach us that there are no heroes without their failings and without their vulnerabilities. Open our hearts that we may embrace our own failings and risk being vulnerable in ways that really matter. Love, you teach us by the example of those who are known and those who are lost in obscurity that fame or not, we can each make a difference. Strengthen our hearts that we may do all we can to make that difference life-affirming in our homes, communities, and world. Love, you teach us through our heroes to love the stories that inspire us to be better than is easy, more generous than feels prudent, kinder than we want to be. Inspire us now and always that we may be steadfast and true to the better angels of our nature. Amen.
