Beloved, let us weep together for so much deserves our grief. Let us weep together for those abandoned and alone, for those who hurt by hatred and bigotry, for those who fear for their safety and know of no place to turn. Beloved, let us weep and then strengthen us to gather our hearts and hopes together, and tend the reasons for those grief. Help us hold together the courage to find the abandoned and alone, especially if we are among that number, and to make more loving and welcoming community for all. Help us hold together the courage to address the hatred and bigotry and learn to respect, cherish, and love one another. Help us hold together the courage to make way and refuge and aid those in need to flee and to reach safety and healing and hope. Beloved, there is so much that deserves our grief, yet let us not stop in grief, but grow bold by it and join together in making hope real. Amen.
