Mystery and Wonder let me stop in the stillness and grow quiet for just a little while after the rush of the day past and before the night pressing upon us. Let me stop in this stillness and breathe with gratitude and in awe of this life, awakening again to the blessings that are right before and all around me, and yet which seem so hidden, shy, and flighty. Mystery and Wonder let me dwell in this space, awake to and aware of those blessings, giving thanks for them and for the gift of being aware of them. All too easily and all too often, caught up in the bustle and busyness of each day, in the joys and in the trials that compose a life, I lose track of these many blessings or find them disappearing over another horizon. In the quiet and the stillness of this prayer, let me sit in silent thanksgiving, awed and amazed once again. Amen.
