For World Water Day
Wisdom flow freely between us all, as you call us back again to tending what makes life possible, real, and good. In our dreaming and in our doing, guide us. Tonight, help us remember all those with inadequate clean water, those suffering from diseases we can prevent and treat, those thirsting and threatened because of changing rains and desertification, those inundated with salty water destroying their farms and homes and wells, and those lands and waters desecrated with contaminants. Tonight, let us not forget that we belong to these many who have lost, who struggle, who live with desecration. Wisdom flow freely between us all, opening our hearts to all we can do to care for the good water there is, to restore what has been lost, to make room and refuge for those displaced by a changing world, to treasure and give thanks for the sweet water we know. Wisdom flow freely between us all and encourage us, in knowing, thanksgiving, and doing to care for the world's waters and one another. Amen.
