Thank you for the gift of this day, but might I have one a little less vulnerable, please? How many times does my heart pray this way when I am frightened, weary, or otherwise feeling fragile and too through with what is going on! Lover of Life, may I truly give thanks, and though I would prefer a little less vulnerability, a little less risk, a little less on the fragility and wearying side, may I be attentive to the sweetness that can only happen when we are risking our whole hearts, the joy that comes from helping goodness grow in this world, and the awe and wonder that leavens each day. May I truly give thanks and join everyone else risking what matters for goodness' sake. Amen.
