Lover of Life attend with us today each person fleeing for and seeking out a better life. Let us remember the gifts and blessings that are borne to countries welcoming immigrants. Do not let us forget how so many of our countries are built, improved, and fed by immigrants and countries whose elders and whose children are cared for by immigrants. Do not let us forget the gifts and blessings that are borne by people seeking a better life, another chance, a way to feed themselves and their families, a hope for freedom. Lover of Life open our hearts to make refuge for one another, to help those who need to flee for safety's sake, out of hunger or from economic or environmental destruction, who flee for education and for freedom. Let us not forget the moral claims upon us all by those fleeing and in need. Open our hearts and strengthen our hands to make more welcoming laws, to risk being changed for the better by new neighbors, new friends, and new family, and to be bold in appreciating and giving thanks for the gifts borne by people seeking a better life.
