Beloved the morning greets us with songs of thanksgiving and with cries for mercy's sake. May we be adept at answering both, giving thanks for what is good and what is getting better, and doing all we can to aid and abet generosity and the establishment and maintenance of merciful justice. Let us not turn away from what is difficult or scary when there is yet suffering we can alleviate. Let us not turn away from one another when we are in need, not from those who need our care, our encouragement, our help, or more merciful laws and just institutions. Let us not turn away from how love calls us in this or in any day, but stay steadfast in our labors, faithful promises, innovating, and risking for love's sake. Beloved the morning greets us with songs of thanksgiving and with cries for mercy's sake. May we answer well, whole-heartedly, truly, and together. Amen.
