For International Women's Day
Lover of Life, Lover of Equality, Lover of Freedom, Lover of Wonder, we rejoice for the strength and courage of those who have gone before us, who loved so boldly they remembered we are all born equal, all gifted, all called. We rejoice for those who struggled for freedom and equality and made way where none had before existed, little by little, organizing, speaking, protesting, creating change. As we remember them on this International Women's Day, let us not forget that this work of wringing our equality and freedom was and is the labor of ordinary imperfect people, just like us. Let us remember now the work is ours, a birthright just by being born, a legacy just by breathing, not determined by gender or social state, but the gift of living. Lover of Life, Lover of Equality, Lover of Freedom, Lover of Wonder, we give thanks today for those who made way before, and for those who are making way now, dancing fiercely for love, freedom and equality's sake, without exceptions.
