May I be a faithful profligate, giving what I have to give, embracing life for what it is, joining whole heartedly in the labors of creating hope and creating joy in this world. May I be a faithful profligate, who knows real stewardship is in aiding and abetting goodness, in making way and refuge amid impossibilities, in gathering up despair and holding it close until it changes back to courageous love. May I be a faithful profligate, who finds a prayer in every breath, who lives a prayer in every deed, whose reverence sets down hurtful words in favor of those that heal and bless. May I be a faithful profligate, who trusts real safety is from openness and risking for what is good and needful, who loves boldly enough to whirl in wonderment with friends, strangers, enemies, and neighbors, who lives the life of true prudence in holy foolishness, giving, loving, serving for mercy's sake each and every day. Amen.
