Let the night welcome us and we welcome it, ready for the dreaming and the dark, to love this life fully and well. Let the night welcome us and we welcome it, as cover for those of us who must go out to seek refuge, and as the space in which we make welcome for those for those in need of refuge. Let the night welcome us and we welcome it, the space in which the day is recounted and hearts made glad to greet one another again, the space in which loneliness dissipates as one prayer joins to another and each heart seeking finds it already belongs. Let the night welcome us and welcome it, ready and glad, grateful for the gifts the night bears and that we bear into the night. May we give ourselves to those gifts, receiving gladly, giving gladly, reconnecting out of the day's fragments, beauty and joy. Amen.
