In the quiet of the wake of day passing by, in the anticipation of night's arrival and blessings, may I sit in stillness and gratitude for the blessing of being. Out of stillness, gratitude blossoms as I remember the gifts of this day, the gifts of this life, the gifts of breathing and singing and laughing and giving and receiving, of trying and failing and trying and achieving, of not knowing and learning and knowing and teaching, of sharing what truly matters and sharing the fleeting shadows and sparkling joys that bless beyond measure. In the blessings beyond measure, let me not check the cup to see how empty or how full, but only be glad that there is this cup, and that with it my spirit grows stronger with every sharing, knowing Mercy well and calling it friend. Amen.
