What a mercy it is to be unexpected sweetness, to have struggled and to have sweat and to have fumbled and floundered our way through the day, and as night dances our way, to be touched by sweetness leaning in through the confinement and the harshness, past the anger and the apathy, past the diminished expectations and weariness, right to our hearts in need of renewed blessing. Renew us then, blessing, and let us give thanks for this mercy, this joy. Remembered to our heart's true self by such a blessing, may we bear that unexpected sweetness to someone else who needs remembering, sharing the goodness we know and creating more goodness in that sharing, discovering the truth that sweetness shared is even sweeter. For these and for so many other mercies, may we give thanks, take heart, and share the blessings. Amen.
