Wisdom, how shall we choose to live this day? Perhaps that is too big a question, but the answers are bigger than the day and even bigger the question, aren't they? If they are not, perhaps we need some help, Wisdom, in selecting bigger answers, though getting by is pretty large and overwhelming on many days in many parts of this world? Wisdom, how shall we choose to live this day? May we choose from moment to moment, love, mercy, kindness, justice, sharing - the long list of virtues that render life sweeter, that bring about new blessings, that take the gifts of life and offer them to every person, without exceptions. May we choose from moment to moment to dwell in the ordinary unfinished vulnerable lives we have, to be bold enough to be kind and generous and to be loving enough to try and help much merciful justice real and true in every community and every land. May we choose to share the stories that matter to us and sing songs that are true in the big mythic ways and eat with strangers and discover friends. May we love our neighbors fasting and feasting and ensure that no one is hungry or afraid. Wisdom, how shall we choose to live this day? Help us make our choices well, in this and every day. Amen.
