Wisdom, what shall we say yes to today? What opening of the door, opening of the heart, opening of possibility is life calling us to today? May we say yes boldly, and stick with what is worthy. May we say yes profligately to every moment needing kindness, every event requiring creative love, every difficulty that can be answered well with perseverance and mercy. May we say yes to the simple joys like laughing in the sun and giving thanks over bread and making up new words to an old tune, new words perfect for that moment. May we say yes bravely, knowing our yes with come with moments of doubt later, with times of struggle and with setbacks and longing, and knowing, too, that the troubles in making that yes come true is part of what makes it worthy. Peace is a lot of trouble. Merciful Justice is hard to find. Kindness takes great effort sometimes. And Generosity is frequently inconvenient. But let us say yes to them anyway, yes to a life that matters, a life full of love and faithful risk. And let that begin with the yes said in and to this day. Amen.
