Love may we cherish today for the day that is. If we face bad news or pain or fright and dislocation, in the middle of all that may we be granted a few moments to remember what we cherish, to remember our calling to love and mercy and kindness and generosity and justice and peace, to remember how we can create change for the better with one daring and vulnerable small act at a time, like cherishing a flower and sharing that with someone else, even if only for a few breaths. Love, may we cherish today for the day that is, for who we are right now and who we are becoming. If we are dissatisfied with this now, with this person we know we are, with the ugliness we may harbor and feed, spitefulness or rigidity or fearfulness or defensiveness, in the middle of al that may we be granted a few moment to remember what is worth cherishing in ourselves, remembering who we can be and choosing to be that better person, the one who loves boldly and lives generously and dwells in kindness everywhere they go. Love, may we cherish today for the day that is, and remember how much of it is in our heart and hands, our choices, our dreaming and our doing. Then may we choose well how to live this day and make it one indeed for cherishing. Amen.
