What a gift it is that we belong to one another and to this earth, simply by breathing, by living right here and right now! Thankfully, we do not have to be able to do everything by ourselves, since we cannot. Thankfully, we do not have to be able to know everything there is to know, since we cannot. Thankfully, we do not have to be responsible for goodness alone in all this world, since we cannot. Thankfully, we have one another, with all our failings and our frailty, with all our limitations and our misperceptions, with all we cannot be and are not. Thankfully, we have one another, and together may attend to what we cannot do apart: love boldly, live kindly, grow peace wherever we reside. Thankfully, we have one another, and together may learn what we cannot learn apart: to be generous, to forgive, to make amends, to be responsible, to bear one another through grief and pain and to celebrate what is wonderful. Thankfully, we have one another to do together what we need each other to do: to restore the desecrated places, to sing loudly and long, to share stories and live stories worth sharing, to dream big dreams worth living and make those real, to grow a life that is full of blessing, a world of love. Amen.
