Love, we hold out our hearts each and every day to catch a drop of mercy, to join the song of wonder, to seek and give what is needful and good. Heart extended, vulnerable, risking, may we be gentle with one another, seeing and honoring and respecting the extended, vulnerable, risking hearts of each other. Love, it seems so much more prudent to shield ourselves, to wall off our hearts from caring, to limit the circle of our compassion and connection and generosity. Help us past that false prudence to greater understanding, to remembering our obligations to one another, simply by sharing this planet, simply by being born and being here right now. Love, aid us in living whole-heartedly, riskily in this life together, and together creating and offering one another goodness and wonder and gladness and kindness and caring and wisdom now and always. Amen.
