Beloved, may we know the peace of green and sweet smelling places, of the night that holds us close and grants us the wonderment of stars, of the cool shade in the heat of day and a sip of even cooler water to quench our thirst. May we know the peace of being held gently and lovingly, whole hearts and whole bodies, the peace of encouraging words when we are downcast and of celebratory thanksgiving when we have reason to rejoice. Beloved, may we know the peace of hoping for greater goods and working steadfastly to make them real, and the peace of accepting imperfections that are also gifts, and the peace of generosity and gratitude in every night and every day. May we know these and the other forms of love's peace, and may all beings know them. Knowing them, may we live to make sure that all may know true peace and be its cultivator, defender, and bearer as well as beneficiary. Amen.
