Beloved, help me be tender enough to care well for this world, to laugh at myself when I am jealous and to find again my gladness for another's gifts and blessings. Every rain washing clean the dusty world reminds me what a gift it is to stop, to rest fully in the moment, to breathe and discover my expectations and my resentment washed cleanly away. From dusk to dusk, the new beauty of each night recalls me to the welcome to be made, the kindnesses yet to offer, the ways we begin again and again and again, the ways we can offer forgiveness again and again and again, washed clean of fear and resentments. Beloved, may I love so boldly that I find the courage to care well for this world, to dance and to mourn with others, to be glad to be part of here and now and to answer the persistent calling of compassion. Amen.
