Beloved, may we be grateful for what is finished and was worthy of our time and efforts, what taught us much and what challenged us to be better than was easy and than we imagined we could be. May we be grateful for those doubts that helped us seek greater understanding and help one another through our differing trials, knowing what it is to undergo trials ourselves. Beloved, may we be grateful for our shared calling to compassion and generosity and justice and making peace, and for what we have been able to do with today, no matter how imperfectly. May we be nourished by today for tomorrow, in body and in spirit, readied to be more courageous than we feel truly able, having the courage to offer comfort and assistance, to be vulnerable and to be persistent in blessing this world. Grateful for being here, may we tend gladly to what needs tending and sing our thanks all along the way. Amen.
