Each morning is not the same, and may we have the wisdom to recognize that, to celebrate the new beauty, to marvel at the change of weather, to rejoice in the fact of change. We may spin round every twenty-four hours. Our planet may make the same elliptical cycle every year around the sun. We may even find ourselves ruefully facing our old nemeses, our friends of struggle, the persistent issues and challenges of our spirit. And yet, each morning is not the same and neither need we be the same. How merciful is that fact! Beloved, what a gift change may be, if we make it so, if we adapt whole-heartedly to the changes we might not desire but are here right now, if we make the changes that are in our power to make for wisdom, for mercy, for love, for justice, and for hope. Each morning is not the same, and neither is the view from where we are, or who and how we are, if we pay attention. Beloved, bring our attention today to the labors of our changing, the beauty we can create in living whole-heartedly and with the light of love at the center of our being. Amen.
