Beloved, may I be more like the stone, bearing up and bearing witness through the difficult times and through the finer ones, warmed and radiating back that warmth by all that is good, steadfast for the long labors of peacemaking and kindness and creating more hope day by day. Beloved, may I be more like the mosses surrounding the stone, resilient from season to season, close to the earth and part of its renewal. Beloved, may I be more like both the stone and the mosses, welcoming those who need to rest comforted and supported, and ready to meet the stranger and become friends. Whatever the day brings, may I do my best and risk for what is worthy, with all I am. Amen.
