Love dance us away from cursing and into blessing, away from doing harm and into helping others, away from taking because of some sense that is our right and into mutual reciprocity. Love dance us away from cursing and into blessing. There are days we want to strike out, to have tantrums, to pout and sigh and groan at some injury we suffer, some pain we know, some experience that wearies us rattling our bones. For so many of us, Love, when we are rattled, we want to rattle someone else, shake off the hurt by shaking fingers and smacking off what bothers us and anyone and anything might do as a good substitute. Turn us, then, Love, and dance us away from being a curse into being a blessing. We have all this energy from all this hurt and even from all this weariness. Turn us, then, Love, and dance us away from being a curse into being a blessing. Turn us and dance us away from hurting another to finding ways to work together for goodness' sake, from hating to discovering what wonderful we may share, from aching from oppression to steadily laboring with others to end injustice and make a merciful future. Love dance us away from cursing and into blessing, to being aware of our choices especially when we feel we have none and we just want to react, and help us choose and exercise our choice and choose wisely, even as we fumble at learning how to bless and not to curse, how to be the kind of blessing we love to meet, how to help shift this world from aching to accomplishing what is useful and good without losers and victims, with rejoicers and lovers of life. Amen.
