Wonder of Wonders how shall we live responsibly today, awake and attentive to what is, to what will be by our choices, to what can be if we make different ones? When we are rushing in anger or fearfulness or impatience may we pause and ask ourselves what is responsible to the now and to the future? For we bear responsibility to one another, to this world, and to each future generation. How shall we live responsibly today, awake and attentive to what our neighbors, strangers, refugees, and adversaries need? May we remember the responsibilities we bear for one another, for the success and health and joy of one another, for the care and freedoms and gifts of one another, for the differences we can honor and all we can share and the disagreements that need not devolve into violence but instead bring us to greater respect and love and caring for each other. How shall we live responsibly today, awake and attentive to the hundreds or thousands of choices we make from our words to our actions, our dreams to our doing? May we live responsibly and well, awake to wonderment, awake to our differences, awake to the hearts each of us have and the gifts we may share for goodness' sake, awake to what is and what can be, depending on how we choose. Amen.
