Beloved, each day most of us have our failures, our short-comings, times and places we would like to have do-overs. Help us cultivate generosity and graciousness towards others, as well as ourselves. Teach us to accept and learn from our failures. In the moments where we recognize our own failures and desires for do-overs, strengthen our courage and our resolve to learn to live differently. From our desires for forgiveness and our need for graciousness, may we offer one another a lovingkindness rooted in the fragility and imperfection of us all. Let us not be conquered by our sense of failure or inadequacies, but reminded that we too are stuff of this earth, which is also stardust, base and beautiful. We may be both base and beautiful when we strive past what is easy, when we have high moral aspirations and faithful promises for which we take faithful risks, day in and day out. All we are belongs to this earth and to one another, to the responsibilities, to the joys and the sorrows, that compose a life. Beloved, help us remember that and live from the graciousness and generosity we ourselves so often require. Amen.
