Light of Guidance lead us in the songs of thanksgiving, the songs of praise, the songs of wonderment and the songs of joy. When we might not know what to give thanks for, when we may take for granted what is and what was and what will be, may we stop and rest and awaken again to all that is for which we may be grateful, and find our hearts of thanksgiving again. When we are discouraged by what is and can only remember the worst parts of what was and fear for what will be, may we stop together and, sharing our hearts, awaken again to all that was and is and will be worthy of praise, claiming our place in this world. When we find ourselves slogging in the sands of cynicism, burned by the corrosion of bitterness, and afire with hatred, when we can no longer perceive the beauty of the world and the power we have to aid, abet, create and share in that beauty, may we stop and breathe until we awaken again to the whirl of wonderment, the amazement of being, the great tree that grows from a tiny seed, the firmament filled with stars, the songs of little birds claiming this life. Light of Guidance lead us when we have lost our capacity for joy. Unlike ecstasy, joy knows what suffering is and is the heart still dancing, with gladness and defiance and gratitude and praise and awe. Lead us back to the fullness of life and awaken us again to what we can change and how we may make this world more blessed. Amen.
