Beloved, at the end of some days it is all we can do to crawl into this heart-space and rest a while in the heart of life. It is easy to give thanks on the fun and delightful and astounding days of mystery and wonder, and yet also so easy to be caught in the joy that we forget to share our thankfulness. And yet, resting here in the heart of life, how can we be anything but thankful? We are thankful for the chance to pause, to breathe, to touch again the heart of wonder, the heart of love, the heart of peace, finding respite and solace. We are thankful for the way our songs, our prayers, our meditations, our caring, our loving, our hoping, and our dreaming sustain and nurture us, keeping us alive to our shared calling, to using our gifts for goodness' sake, and to the sustaining whole. Beloved, at the end of some days it may be all we can do to crawl into this heart-space and rest a while, but when after a while, rested, refreshed in thankfulness, we are ready for what comes next. Alleluia!
