How can we meet, embrace, and rejoice in what renews, revivifies, and restores when we are still clinging to what is broken beyond repair, to old, festering injuries, to ten thousand upon ten thousand walls and barriers to saying yes to life? Love help us remember better, that we may be stronger for the injuries we have survived, and even more willing to risk faithfully for what is needful and what is good. Love help us give thanks for what we have cherished, but now is past, and devote ourselves fully to what is needful and good right now, carrying forward what has been good from our past, for the future's sake. Love help us bring down the walls and barriers we have built into mazes populated by monsters and instead say yes to life and discover that those monsters are our scared and hurting selves, our scared and hurting neighbors, our scared and hurting friends. Love help us prepare the way to meet, embrace, and rejoice in what renews, revivifies and restores. Help us prepare the way that we may say, now and always, yes to life. Amen.
